Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy refers to the completion of therapeutic exercises in water to assist in management and recovery from injuries and chronic health conditions.

Hydrotherapy uses the unique properties of water, including buoyancy and hydrostatic pressure, to reduce weight bearing load on joints, promote muscle relaxation, and improve circulation and swelling. This has been shown to help reduce pain, increase range of movement and strength, and improve general function and mobility. Hydrotherapy can assist recovery from injury but it has also been shown to be particularly effective in managing many chronic health conditions including arthritis, neurological conditions, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and pre and/or post surgery such as total knee and hip replacements.

Our hydrotherapy sessions take place at Orange Aquatic Centre. You will need to have an initial assessment at the clinic before you begin hydrotherapy so that our physiotherapist can assess you and determine your requirements, and create a program for you.
